Sar is a Toronto-based artist and community arts worker who works in cross-disciplinary bio centric media . They are driven by a passion for art, sustainability, and inclusion. Sar holds an Bachelor of Fine Arts from OCAD University in Life Studies where they focused on nature, anatomy, technology, biology, ecology and sustainability. Largely inspired by their disabled, lesbian, and Jewish-Indo Trinidadian identity, Sar challenges viewers to consider how life intertwines with nature, confronting issues such as sustainability and the transformation of the body under the pressures of life. Their art provides an avenue of expression to help advance sustainability, eco diversity and amplify the often unrecognized voices of diverse bodies, exploring possibilities for how we live our lives in and with nature. Sar has worked, facilitated and created with different organizations including Toronto Art Crawl, STEPS Public Art, OCAD U, Informa, East End Arts, Koffler Gallery, and InterAccess.
